Set of arrows for another exciting project in the works, again featuring Joe from Hillbilly Bows.
These are late Saxon arrows, based on a number of contemporary pieces of art. Square cut fletchings bound with fine hemp into a pine pitch glue. Tapered bulbous nocks and a reduced shaftment as on almost every arrow until the 15thC.
The arrowhead is a copy of the recent River Thames find by Monika Buttling-Smith.
The shafts are 10mm ash, spined for a bow of around 100lb.
