The stack!

Karl's progress on the 1820s forge rebuild has been astonishing! In just a couple of weeks we're at this stage, with the base, double hearth, tuyere and back plate, right hand archway and V-flue all completed. _____

Now all that's left is the chimney stack itself and the external work, which will feature a new chimney pot. _____

All the weird little asymmetrical features you can see here such as the uneven corbles, off centre fire openings and that really quirky archway sitting in the middle of nowhere are exactly as the original, nothing has been altered or changed at all! _____

Inside, the flues have been lined with hand cut Portland stone, and the building has a Welsh slate damp proof course.
